A Saturday that starts at the farmers market and ends on somebody's porch. You bend for the crate of apples, climb into the truck, sit on the porch step with a glass of something cold, and not once do you tug at your waistband or check where your hem went.

Anouk is the skirt for that day. The high waist sits at your natural waist and stays there, with a metal button, a zip fly and a little stretch in the denim-look fabric so it moves when you do. The hem is cut higher in front and longer at the back: your stride is free, and from behind the skirt falls to the calf. The frayed edges and the worn-through patch on the front are part of the design, so it looks lived-in from the first wear.

Sizes S to 2XL. It runs small, so order one size up from your usual. Pull on the boots, grab the keys, and you are the woman who looks like she has somewhere good to be.

Material: denim-look woven fabric, 100% polyester, with a slight stretch; light-wash finish with worn-in shading
Cut: relaxed straight cut from a high waist that sits at your natural waist; belt loops all round
Length: high-low hem: shorter in front, so it clears the knee when you walk, and longer at the back, where it falls to the calf
Closure: metal button and zip fly, like your favorite jeans
Pockets: two front pockets and two patch pockets on the back
Finish: raw frayed hem and a worn-through patch with threads across it on the front right thigh; a little skin shows through the patch, and the fraying is meant to be there
Care: machine wash cold, inside out, hang to dry; the frayed edges may loosen slightly with washing, which is normal for this finish
Colors: Light Wash

Runs small: the maker cuts these one size under US sizing. Order one size up from your usual size (you usually wear a M? order the L). The waist has a little stretch, so if you are between sizes, take the larger one.
