The first cool morning in October. You pull on a white tee and your good jeans. You button up the cardigan and walk to the farmers' market. By the second stall, someone asks where you found it.

Petra is a soft, lightweight knit with a hood and round buttons down the front. Every one comes in a print that does the talking for you. Button it up in a moment, and nothing goes over your hair.

Sizes S to 4XL, in seven prints. The cut is relaxed with a dropped shoulder, so order your usual size. You are the woman whose cardigan people ask about.

Material: soft, lightweight polyester knit with the design printed on; the stitched look is in the print, the surface itself is smooth and gentle against the skin, and there is no wool in it
Print: one all-over design per colour, printed digitally, so no two panels line up exactly the same way
Cut: relaxed and straight through the body with a dropped shoulder; no waist shaping, so it goes over a tee or a thin sweater
Length: 27.2 inches from the shoulder in size S to 33.5 inches in 4XL; it lands at the hip and a little below in the larger sizes
Hood: an attached hood that rests on the shoulders when it is down
Sleeves: long sleeves that cover the wrist; push them back once for a shorter look
Closure: five round brown buttons down the front; wear it open or buttoned
Pockets: two side pockets at the hip, as on the photos
Care: machine wash cold on the gentle cycle, hang to dry; no tumble dry, no bleach
Weight: about 1.2 lb in size L

Runs true to size with a relaxed cut through the body and a dropped shoulder. Order your usual size. Between sizes, or planning to wear it over a thick sweater? Take the larger one. The bust below is the cardigan laid flat and doubled, all the way around, buttoned; it gives you about four inches of room over your own bust measurement. The shoulder is measured seam to seam across the back and reads wide because the shoulder is dropped; the sleeve is measured from that seam to the cuff.
